No fine print, no fake promises — here's exactly how Snapture handles what you share.

What Snapture protects

Snaps to friends are encrypted on your device before they upload. The server stores only ciphertext it can't read, and only the recipients you chose can unlock it.
Content expires. Snaps expire on your timer; stories last 24 hours. Expired content is blocked on the server, not just hidden in the app.
You choose the audience. Stories are friends-only by default, with an optional Close Friends ring. Blocked users can never see your content.
You stay in control. Delete a story anytime and it's removed from Snapture for everyone. Ghost mode hides your online status.
Metadata is minimized. Photos are stripped of EXIF/GPS before they leave your device.

Browsers can't prevent screenshots or screen recording. No web app can. We use expiration, access control, and an optional username watermark as deterrents — never a guarantee.
Stories aren't end-to-end encrypted like 1:1 snaps. Because a story can be seen by friends you add later (within 24h), it's stored on our server. Your private snaps to specific friends are end-to-end encrypted.
The server sees some metadata — who you're friends with, timing, and sizes — even though it can't read your encrypted snap content.
Once someone has seen content, we can't control copies they make outside Snapture. Treat anything you send as potentially saveable.
